5/16/2012: Guests Needed

As always, we're looking for guests. Don't be shy, we rarely turn anybody down, and if we do, it's for legal/logistic/relevance reasons -- not that we didn't like your music or you had B.O. or anything. Basically, this is the ultimate open-mike: if you want to be on the show, and you meet the criteria on the sign-up sheet, we'll do our damnedest to get you on. If nobody has responded to your requests, we probably didn't get them due to some email spam filter or something. You might want to send them again.

5/14/2012: Editors/Bloggers/Reviewers Wanted

Basically, "Anybody want to help run a web site?" I'd like to get the blog fired back up for something more than just show notes. If you want to review a locally-released CD, plug or talk about local show (even if it was a national act), or just spill your guts about the local music scene or the global music industry in general, then send your work in to us. In addition, I could really use some evangelists to get the message board moving again, and a masochistic, dedicated soul to spend a couple hours a week making sure the calendar is current.

5/13/2012: Hair-Brained Scheme: The Indy-In Tune Mixed Tape

It has come to my attention that this town is rife with fledgling artists, new bands, abandoned projects, cover bands with only one or two original songs, and bands that just don't want to give away four tracks away for free on a podcast. Because I loose sleep at night worrying about these individual songs fading away and never being heard, we've come up with the idea of doing the occasional "Mixed Tape Show." That is, a show that is one straight hour of uninterrupted music, no talking (though we might put "spoken liner notes" at the very end just so people know what they heard), and one song per artist. If you fall into one of the aforementioned categories, and would like to submit your individual track for consideration, use the submission form or get in touch with us about music release forms and alternate ways to get files to us.

5/12/2012: Another Hair-Brained Scheme: The "Indy In-Tune Presents" Shows

Obviously we all have lives to some extent outside of the Internet and the music scene (hey ... it could happen). In my case, as is obvious, the rigors of a day job, a newlywed lifestyle, and the need to spend time developing, networking, and promoting the site -- in addition to researching, setting up, recording, and editing new shows -- means that a weekly release schedule is just plain impractical most of the time. To that end, I would like to offer up the opportunity for people to either produce and submit their own episodes of Indy In-Tune, or set up and perform an interview which we will record and edit (heck, you've no idea how much research and logistic time even THAT much would save). These shows would then go out as regular Indy In-Tune episodes, but with your name in the byline. (For example, "Show #195 - John Smith Presents: Honest Bob and the Five Easy Payments.") Think you've got what it takes to herd the average indie music band through a one-hour interview? Get in touch with us.
